instead of studying, I have spent my whole day plucking my eyebrows and reading Vermillion Gate (Aiping Mu). T_T Confirm going to fail already for Lit tomorrow.
I've sort of studying Idea of Perfection.
I'm just praying that they ask me a question about characterisation or about themes presented in the novel (perfection) or symbolism. Heck, I wouldn't even care if they gave me one on gender issues. But anything to deal with context or historical moments or shit like that....I HAVEN'T STUDIED IT.
Maybe I should have chosen to do Pride and Prejudice instead.
Merchant of Venice
I can talk about Shylock and Portia in great detail. I can talk about Jews vs Christians. I can talk about the symbols. I can NOT talk about stage directions because I haven't got a clue and it's not likely that I can memorise the information in time for a 3 hour paper tomorrow (3 essays, 3 hours, one pair of underwear wtf)
Poetry
BRUCE DAWE OR GWEN HARWOOD!?!?!?!??????????????
Bruce Dawe: I only know Enter Without So Much As Knocking, Weapons Training, Drifters, Victorian Hangman well enough to write about it. Perhaps I should start looking at Homecoming and the Wholly Innocent tonight?
Gwen Harwood: So ...there's Glass Jar, Barn Owl, Lion's Bride, Suburban Sonnet, Prize Giving, Suburban Sonnet: Boxing Day. I can use those. But she's damn whiny and too hard to talk about.
I'm praying so hard right now. I think I've made God's inbox exceed it's limit siggggggggggh.
I hope for poetry, a question on colloquial language comes out. Then I can use Dawe poems! If there's one on imagery, I can easily just use Weapons Training and EWSMAK.
What bugs me a lot about Lit is all these different READINGS. Multiple readings helps us get better marks, right? And Harwood is so feminist and so whiny and I hate her poems.
Cos I'm so not a feminist.
i'm pretty happy where I am. I like guys opening doors for me, and the guy should be the one who pays for most of the dates. The guy should drive the car, know where all the places are and knows how to get there. I want him to have a bigger salary than me. Then I can live comfortably!! and don't have to read Gwen Harwood again.
(The Glass Jar is very pretty though. )
I can't believe I blogged about Lit. Again.
I'm quitting it next year; going to change to normal English. If my application thing's been approved.
